Sir,

I have today examined Mr. J. Tayler, late Police Constable, Hong Kong, and have the honour to report that his general health is good.

He complains of occasional headaches and pain in the small of the back after walking for a couple of miles, or after unusual exertion or after long standing, or on jarring of the body as in jumping from a height. He has two small scars on the scalp and some trifling scars on left elbow, right wrist and both knees.

The muscles of the back are tender on firm pressure but present no visible indication of injury or disease.

In reply to your questions:-

(a) Whether his retirement from the Police Force was accelerated by his injuries? He states that pain in his back prevented his walking about or putting out his strength in a struggle.

There is no corroborative objective condition for his statement which may or may not be true.
